BelTA has learned.
"On 21-22 November, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a working visit to Brest, Belarus, to participate in a joint meeting of the boards of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. These meetings have been held annually since 2000. They are an effective mechanism for synchronizing the efforts of the two countries in the international arena," Maria Zakharova said.
"Within the framework of the upcoming event, the parties will continue the coordination of approaches to cooperation with the countries of the global majority, the Global South and Global East, in multilateral formats with an emphasis on the SCO, BRICS and also joint efforts to counter the judicial, legal and sanction aggression of the collective West," she said.
According to Maria Zakharova, the parties are set to adopt a resolution and approve a plan of Belarusian-Russian ministerial consultations for 2025. "The ministers are planning to sign a joint statement on the common vision on the Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century and a bilateral declaration on the role of international law and on the guiding principles regarding the classification of unilateral coercive measures as illegal, the ways and means of counteracting, mitigating and compensating for the negative impact of such measures," she said.
“Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to meet with his Belarusian counterpart to exchange views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda, to coordinate foreign policy approaches in multilateral organizations. Of course, special attention will be paid to the topic of diplomatic support for integration processes within the framework of the Union State, including the preparation of a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State scheduled for early December this year," Maria Zakharova said.
"When in Brest the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry is set to visit the Brest Hero Fortress memorial and lay flowers at the monument to its defenders, who were the first to take the blow of the Nazi invaders. This memorial has become an example of courage, fortitude and self-sacrifice for several generations of our citizens in the name of defending the common Fatherland," Maria Zakharova added.
